Railway Stakes Day 2022

West Australian Racing
Lets get the banter going.

Alspehina my best on the program.

Finding it hard to knock the fave in the big one.

Baby Paris out to win, they're pretty bitter about last week.
+1 -1

Exactly, it's a big/great day, what does everyone like..don't be shy stick your neck out like Bustler probably will again.

Also had a good look at the Railway Chris and agree the fav with even luck and a decent cart into it(over to you CP)will be super hard to beat, hadn't given Trix Of The Trade much thought until yesty but he is the logical knockout if AG has any bad luck.
Yonkers, C.Waller and P.Harvey?? is interesting not sure he has the class with 56.5 but this galloper will eat a testing 1600m all day.

The Jungle Mist the two favs are both hard to beat with a lottery and luck the recipe for a 3rd placing maybe.Sniparoochy and BP in a two horse war like we have seen in a couple of races already?..yes please that would be great viewing.
One maddie for the novelties in this race is Gunmetal Grey ran a cracker the same race last year and is in similar nick, the value Queen Lucy Warwick is on this year and she is in great form..a must for the novelties this mare imo.

Is it fair to say it is not a "great" Railway Stakes - no well known stars in it.

    Nonetheless, always a fabulous contest.

It’s the best in years! No standouts and will be won by some lucky connections other than Peters Investments ^:)^

Don't mind the toppie in the Jungle Mist at the price.
Railway - reckon Trix is a better horse than Alaskan God up to 2000. So we shall see. Obviously luck will play a part at some stage. Agree with Resortman too. Still flying!

Zadar Rock for a carbon copy of its last win minus the big salute.

Knot Secret seems a big price for his ability.

Sniparoochy a put in take out job.

Comes A Time is flying, havey will win it.

Chicklett to close out at the big odds-Pearce stable still not getting the market support their last 4-6 months deserves.

    Have a great day all.

My dad used to lay the tripe out of any horse in Melbourne which appeared on the front page of the sun or herald. They had a 100% loss record, and nothing has changed!!

Being from interstate, I’ll throw something on Yonkers and Iron Clad. Waller is a ge, and Clarken is a top trainer whose won good races in Melbourne when he’s traveled over from SA.

    R2 Off Wego
    R3 River Beau
R6 If not a start in Railway Winning Partner wins this
R7 Linden Lady each way for certain
R8 Yonkers hard to beat with Resortman but am keen on Kaptain Kaos as a great each way chance at long odds
R9 Stay Safe an each way special ahead of Tena Koutou as a saver. Son of Bacchus the big improver

Watched Western Mail on Sky Racing. Luckygray obviously doesn't apply to O'Donnell's hair colour. For his age he prefers lucky black. How old is SOD? About 60?

Also on the show racecaller Dazza Mac. Has acquired a bit of pudding. Aged a bit since I last saw him in person

Soft 7 as predicted by one poster.

Anyone a slight query on Amelia's Jewel $2.05 & first try at 1600 on soft ground?
  • FlandersFlanders    1,409 posts
I have my doubts that this is a genuine soft 7... track was vertidrained during the week and I feel that this has an influence on that reading

its a bloody good card but by golly the winners are hard to find. each race has 6-7 really good chances.

Late drift to 2.70 Truly Inspired was stealing! Unsure why it wasn't in the red except for the big field(of average ones I might add)
Some punters backed Coolth in I reckon....

I don't bet on the horses anymore but if I was I would follow The Pontiff today in both the Guineas and The Railway

Willie Pike was looking to get to an outside position when badly baled up at the 600m. Other jockey who shall remain nameless don’t do that.
    That is the difference.
