    Moreira rode the winner of race 9, too and ended up with a treble.....sounds eerily familiar. Look out, Zac :-S

    Howard Cheng, Joao Moreira & Zac Purton all rode doubles at Sha Tin last night. Douglas Whyte's record for wins in a season(114) must surely be under threat if Joao & Zac stay fit and on the right side of the stewards.

    Zac made it a profitable stopover in Sydney winning the George Main Stakes on Sacred Falls with another ice cool ride. =D>

    I wonder if the protests going on in HK at the moment will have any effect on the races tomorrow night? Amber Sky is due to resume in the National Day Cup.

    We are off and running again with the contenders separating themselves from the pack at the head of the premiership. Zac Purton & Douglas Whyte rode doubles today and Moreira picked up the final race on the program. Nash Rawiller will kick off his stint in HK this weekend after serving a suspension incurred in Japan. Moreira will also start a three-meeting suspension on Sunday.

    Moreira is like Alexander The Great-conquering the world. Three winners yesterday in Sydney, Four winners today in HK and he still has one more ride tonight. =D>

    Moreira rides four winners ahead of a three meeting suspension, Douglas Whyte gets a double and Zac adds another to his tally. The effort of Gold Fun in the Group 3 sprint was huge-carried 59kg and was denied a run for at least half of the home straight.

    Was watching race 3 at Sydney yesterday and thought -Farrq!!! what a ride on the winner - :-? who was that? - had no idea he was here - he certainly goes OK  ;)

    There is an item in the Sunday Telegraph here in Sydney today suggesting Moreira wants to ride in Sydney one day, not Europe. I think he was probably just flattering his hosts or might have been caught up in the euphoria of a big day. He has a long career ahead of him in HK if he wants it and I'm not sure he could attract the sort of retainer here that he could if he rode for Godolphin in Europe.

    From Christian Nicolussi's column, AT THE TRACK, Sunday October 5 Daily telegraph:

    Joao Moreira needed little time to remind punters why he's one of the best riders in the world after an early Randwick double.

    And The Magic Man told At The Track he's already given serious thought to relocating to Sydney on a full-time basis.

    If and when Moreira leaves Hong Kong, it will be Australia-not Europe-where the hoop bases himself.

    "People in Australian racing know me a lot more, and that would help me get going quicker", Moreira said.

    "Australia is at the top of my list. I've ridden here before and had some luck. At the moment I want to keep riding in Hong Kong, and if you do well there, it helps your resume`. But when the time comes, I'll put in my application to ride here."

    Moreira wouldn't specify Sydney or Melbourne, but said he'd lean towards the former. He's got no shortage of mates in the harbour city.

    Will never forget the night in Singapore when he rode 8 winners from 8 rides, surely one of the greatest individual sporting performances of all time. Was inspirational. His final winner could not win 100 metres to go, but he guided it home when all seemed lost. He caught my imagination that night, since then only got better.

    Moriera's rides on Saturday in Sydney weren't great

    He is a superstar jockey but those 3 rides weren't great at all.

    Hampton Court had to check off the heels of the leader when he had plenty of room to pop off the horse was far to good.

    Brazen Beau right place right time and clearly the best 1200m horse in the race backed off the map.

    He's Your Man wide most of the way and proved far to good.

    All 3 were the most heavily backed horses in their races. The rides were good but don't tell me they were anything special.

    I do think he is the best rider in the world though no doubts.

    Based on your assessment that the winners didn`t have the best of runs, tells the story of Moriera.

    Horses run for him.

    Same horse, another jock, different result.

    Missing the point Shovhog.

    He doesn`t ride the perfect race every time he gets on (probably no more than other leading riders).

    The point is horses find more with him on, thats the magic

    There is never anything sinister about his rides either. Sometimes it pays to fly in someone who is 'motivated'.

    Gerard Mosse, Douglas Whyte & Vincent Ho all recorded doubles on the eight race card which was held primarily(6/8 races) on the All Weather Track at Sha Tin.
