Didn't win and obviously a work in progress still but was very impressed by New World Order tonight both in appearance and race track performance. Definitely in for some fun with that one.

Keep looking at that race 4 FF paying $1275 in disbelief, Fav wins, Maximum Demand was massive last week and was always a good chance to lob handy on the pegs (which it loves) then 2nd fav and 4th fav run 3rd and 4th. Unit players obviously haven't work the stands out!

The biggest run tonight was Everton VC at Albany...do yourself a favour and have a look at the replay on Tabtouch...Was a very good 5th in the Albany Cup last week too...if he draws the front line next start in the Great Southern will be on!

Fell for the old Jungle Jewell trick...another never ever again! ~X( and the run of Rocknroll Whitby :-O

Dreadlock Rockstar seems a massive price in the next. Leads and wins for me.

Rocknroll Whitby went pretty much how he went at his last start, I was on The Thinking Man that night and I have to say it isn't a strong form line!
  • GilgameshGilgamesh    5,009 posts
And yes I know Fernleigh Rebel flys the arm but I think Dreadlock can hold him.
  • GilgameshGilgamesh    5,009 posts
Pfftttt, should have just laid Fernleigh. Would have liked to see Dredlock just jeep pushing on, was never gonna win grabbing hold.

Early speed burn then Machtu was sitting pretty and smoking the pipe.
  • Ridersonthestorm33Ridersonthestorm33    10,942 posts
He's a handy horse Machtu not a top liner but he's a money earner.

Straittothehilton in the last as a roughie for a place. Had no luck last run , needs everything to go his way to run into the money from barrier 12. Will win a race someday somewhere!

VK, you were a week early on El Machine, hope you stuck. That was the most competitive race I've seen for a while.....could Cyamach have eased for the one/one when Shardons came around rather than burn up fuel holding him out? El Machine was perfectly driven.

And yes, Machtu no champ but a whole lot better than that lot ....$2.80 was a luxury price and no I wasn't on ....one of my favorite ticky horses Borntobeanartist ....happy to get a little earn at 3 bucks plus the place in a small field.

Noticed a little while ago Tenardi is a much improved driver. He's more patient and his judgement better too. He drove El Machine to perfection.

Remind me to not listen to the pre race dribble again. Fernleigh Rebel beat only three of its five rivals off the mobile and then was no chance.

Cyamach didn't have the slightest intention of handing up that's for sure. Shardons would have been gone along way from home even if he got to the breeze I would say. He was a 66/1 chance tonight.

Not a huge pacing fan but got a tip for Tommy Be Good so had a look at the race. Probably the best drive of any pacer i have seen in my limited viewing.

Chris Voak back in form. Drove with confidence. The move at the bell was match winning! Tommy won easily and looks to have more wins in store.

Backed well too($13-5). I saw the betting move, too  but commited the cardinal sin of backing a shorty when chasing...will I ever learn? L-) [-(

Chasing - the bane of many a punter including yours truly...learnt the hard way after many years...there is always a tomorrow on the punt. Trouble was some great wins when chasing ,but it's still a road to doom.

Yeah I know what you mean but sometimes you just have to immerse yourself. Many, many next start winners are found through backing unlucky runners and I usually try to get myself out of any situation. As I said, I saw the betting move for the winner but I played 'safe' and went for a fav-that was the mistake, not chasing itself.

Not a huge fan of C Voak, mainly over whip use, but that was a sweet drive ...stewards will probably look at him pushing out and forcing Riverdale 3 wide coming into the bell but they shouldn't, he was driven to win....and he only swiped him 5 or 6 times and then just steered. Have to say I never saw any $13 about a last start winner but was still pretty good value. Credit were credit due, good drive, also LC Jones handled Machtu very well and Tenardi was a peach of a drive on El Machine....and it looked to be a fat crowd...Chinese New Year? The promotions team go okay with these themed nights. So there you go, some positives from grumpy ol JayJay.

Your allowed to push 3 wide at the bell...
  • The blokes who do the previews for Gloucester are way too enthusiastic..... If you can't sleep at night just record them.

True, provided there is no horse outside the one you are pushing.

Voak was completely within the rules as they stand and the only one that could not see was Garry Gray.

Had to laugh, Dredlockrockstar hasnt been showing as much gat speed of late, that's because he's veen in stands Matty, come on you're better than that haha.

You have to be careful who you listen  to

I  unfortunately heard S Suavolko midweek video interview re his drives Friday night - that  3 year old- its drawn to lead and show its true ability- get on - they were his words

God i wish i hadnt heard that - and he mistimed the start by a metre anyway - never travelled in the run -and was gone along way from home

Skye Bond also said that Millwood Faith's best chance would be to lead and then couldn't wait to hand up to Tricky Styx.

Absolutely no problem with sitting on Tricky Styx but don't say you are going to lead.
