Criticism of rides

West Australian Racing
We see good ones and plenty of bad ones. As long as the jockeys are trying their hardest to win, we live with what they dish up, good or bad. Occasionally we see rides where it is so obvious the jockey is not trying his/her best. The stewards are far too lenient in this respect. There should be zero tolerance for lack of vigour.
This bloke would have made a good jockey if he were small enough:

I hear you Rodent loud and clear.
If Nat was small enough he could ride his own horse.

Happy belated birthday to former bookmaker Brett Lenton for last Saturday. What a perfect gift, having your horse Nat The Fyfe win on the day. 70 years young.

Great bookie and a nice bloke...gave him 500 one day on a 'good thing' ... All in 5s 10s 20s and coin....never counted it...just threw it all in the bag and said with a smile 'correct weight'. It was me counting the losses after the race though! Was young and stupid then. Now just stupid.

Great training effort, trained to the minute. I wisk I'd known it was the owner's birthday. Probably had that race earmarked a long time ago.

That formline only applies to Geraldton horses trained by select trainers. APPARENTLY

^^ what chance have the punters got? I backed NTF on sat. my first bet in g/ton for years, only because of the comments on its last run from my fellow PTTers. pretty astute punters/observers on here.

Should have followed suit and backed it myself falc.
Except I thought that surely the jock on this occasion would not have thumbed his nose at the stewards (considering all the heat and scrutiny by us on PTT ) by using the whip and getting it across the line unlike last time.
But obviously they are so brazen up there in their contempt for the punters and the stewards that I was proven wrong.

hashie, I watched the replay a few times and read the lengthy stewards report and thought "mmm, will they or won't they next start?". then thought "nah, they're dumb enough to have a go...".

    which they did.....

Careful lads the mods will pull the thread if it looks like becoming critical of the institution!!!

Fair dinkum. The NTF thread had every bit of truth in it, but because of major deficiencies (or worse) it gets removed. How very very embarrassing this particular situation must be for the institution- otherwise the request to remove it wouldn't have been made. Scary that this crap can go on in this day and age

What would that have to do with both the circumstances and the content of the thread Diva? From my perspective absolutely none.

Because I am just a punter who would like to see when a blatant contempt for the rules are visible for the whole world to see that it is simply dismissed by the very people that are in a position to stop this sort of thing happening.
But obviously you are not of the same opinion.
  • FlandersFlanders    1,414 posts
Diva the thread got pulled for some reason sure. I am very surprised that you are suggesting that you will reinstate it if two forum members post their real names. This is a strange thing to be saying on your part. It kinda makes a mockery of the guidelines that you mods operate under don't you agree? If this is what it would take to put the thread back up, the reason for taking it down can't be very genuine. Unless I'm missing something?
  • TheDivaTheDiva    13,248 posts
When you accuse stewards of corruption with no basis, Chris and I are the ones to receive the phone calls. If you want to post your real name, which I don't see should be a problem if you believe what you write, then you can take the phone call and sort it out directly with the parties you have issue with.

Ok thanks for the explanation then. I didn't think I'd gone as far as to say they were corrupt with what I posted but I guess they thought thats what I was saying.... enough to make a call.
It is disapointing that the entire thread was removed though- could the offensive posts have been removed instead?
  • detonatordetonator    4,397 posts

I used the "C" word Flanders. But maybe if I posted something supporting terrorism maybe that would still be on here. Does on other forums.

Anyway my last word on this topic from me. Hooray I hear everyone saying

    :))

Believe me when I say you are all better off remaining anonymous and the moderators taking a thread down from time to time..........I can go close to guaranteeing that very little gets taken down unless a call has been received. As opinionated posters we should push the boundaries as fas as we want to, but if we do it anonymously then expect to lose a thread from time to time.
