12 into 8 doesn't go. No point in looking at the ladder until round 23.

Then why the comment about Richmond????
    :-??

My comment was in direct relation to your comment about Richmond winning the flag. Nothing to do about who gets in the 8 or how many are vying for the top 8..It was just to highlight that it is a season of unusual things happening..So therefore Richmond to win a flag wouldn't actually be  surprise...this season.

Watched all the footy shows last night and Richmond are the flavour of the month with all the scribes.
Just posed the question can they win it to stir up conversation for round 16.
This season anything is possible. Looking at ladder positions currently means nothing. Whereby years gone past you can confidently make a call on how the ladder will look at seasons end.
As for the punt on the footy. GOOD LUCK !!!!!

AFL player and former player under police investigation

    Mark Robinson

Vickery, 27, joined the Hawks as a free agent last October after eight years at Richmond.

    Hawthorn
has just released a statement: “Hawthorn Football Club is aware that Ty
Vickery is assisting police in an investigation. As the matter is under
investigation the clb will not be making further comment at this time.”

Victoria Police are investigating Vickery and a former player.

The AFL refused to comment when contacted by the Herald Sun but confirmed the league had been made aware of the investigation on Wednesday afternoon.

    Victoria
Police have confirmed a 33-year-old Thornbury man has been arrested in
Clarendon St, South Melbourne, over alleged extortion and threats.

    The arrest occurred at 1pm.

    The
man, understood to have been taken into custody by police outside
tattoo parlour City of Ink, which is owned by Jake King and jailed
underworld figure Toby Mitchell, was taken to the Melbourne crime
    investigation unit for questioning.

Police say the man is currently assisting police.

No charges have been laid at this stage.

More value head to head. Dockers will win. North are rubbish and getting worse.

they're both in the same boat @det

I don't know how you can declare a team to win when they're in just as much trouble as their opponent... home ground advantage has me leaning to the Roos

I will tell you why Hash.
Goldstein has checked out and will play elsewhere next year.
Whaite is a huge out for North.(Cunnington a good in but lacks pace)
I like Freo's inclusions. Hill. Blakey.
Freo could have won their last two against finals teams.
    7 day break.
Freo is playing better football than North right now. At least they have spirit.
Etihad not the advantage for North like it once was.
Change up your multi Hash ;)

And while I am declaring winners in the AFL, Essendon to bounce back today.
Dyson Heppell said so in his Monday interview. He had the "eye of the tiger"
I am paying no attention to the market support for The Colliewobbles. :D

Given the last week where two blokes were knocked out with a fist...
how long does tex walker get for shoving a bloke (clearly with malice) into the goal post last night.
granted he wasnt knocked out... surely must be 2 weeks?

nothing in it sorry diva he's allowed to shepard his opponent.. it was in play, he had eyes for the man and it was just unfortunate the goal post was in the vicinity. a few metres either side of the goal post and we wouldn't be having this debate

I'm with you Hash. Thought he bumped/pushed him in the side. Kudos to Johannes? for his desperation in trying to intercept the ball. These blokes certainly have a lot of courage.

Nothing in it. That's why we have padding on the posts.
Did Leigh Matthews go down after he snapped one in half ???

nothing in it meaning it was intentional

You misinterpreted me Hash. I agree with you. Nothing in it.
We have padding on the post to minimise injuries. Accidentally or intentional.
The bump was fair. Play on in my book.
The Matthews reference was how hard someone can hit the post. JJ wasn't hurt. No malice imo.
Dungy baiting is in another league.

The last time a team had drawn consecutive games before today was back in 1921. Carlton drew with Fitzroy R4 1921 and then drew with South Melbourne the following week. Carlton also did it in the first two rounds back in 1911, with Essendon in R1 & South Melbourne in R2.

Think you might be right Hash. They are looking very ominous.
    Nice crystal ball gazing.

Deto are you a bit worried about the absence of your sparring partner, 24comments into this post and not a word from him strange to say the least. I knew the draw yesterday would bring our resident, and well informed stats man Paul back from holidays not only did he have the stat for a team drawing 2 weeks in a row up but before the footy channels as well  You sure you dont work for one of them Paul
  • detonatordetonator    4,366 posts
I think Dungy has been beaten into submission.
Those 2 closes Docker losses which were very winnable has broken him.
But the coup de gras was Eagles beating the reigning premiers and Jack being in the best definitely softened him up before the Saints delivered the killer blow.

Didn't you know Bruce McAvaney "aka" Paul was a poster on this forum ?

Nope, don't work for any of them. Once I heard on the radio that GWS drew again, I thought I go check the AFL Record, which has a list of all the drawn games to see if it had ever happened before. Even I was surprised when I noticed Carlton had achieved this feat not once but twice.

odds ranging from $15 right up to $34
i'll admit I stupidly already did cash out a few of the bets at the top quote of $34....
only to see them go on to win their next 4 games and firm into $9
RULE #1 NEVER EVER CASH OUT!!!
the deflated odds these bookies offer you only benefit them and no one else
best option is to ride it out and hedge at the end if possible
cause after all why put the bet on in the first place if your not willing to ride it out...

Yes I agree. NEVER CASH OUT.
Another rule. NEVER LAY OFF during the running.
