Watched a couple of trials on video, there today. The track looks great. 

If I am correct, the complex is not far from Mandura, so my question is, why isn't this track ever used to conduct a race meeting. 

I know Pinjarra is just up the road, but this really looks like a top racing surface. it just seems a complete waste to me, and using it if it's o.k. to race on in winter, would give Belmont a bit of a spell. I just reckon 5 meetings a year, that's about one a month, during the winter months might be reasonable and give the horses a decent surface on which to race.

Why isn't it ever used to hold a meeting? Is there no grandstand at all, and no facilities, toilets, undercover area for a betting ring etc?
If there are, even if they are ordinary, maybe they could be spruced up for a small amount of money.

    never been so can only guess they don't have the facilities to conduct a race meeting there?

    serious question - do they have seats, grandstands, toilets and a bar etc there

    They had some picnic race meetings back there in the early 2000's. Great day, drive the car into the middle of the track and setup a shade on the inside rail. It was flagged at one point to start holding mid week meetings but fell through for some reason.

    Very basic facilities perfect for trials. No grandstand, seats, bar. I actually went to the non tab raceday a while back when i lived down that way. very popular day from memory

    Is it any worse than Rockingham Beach. ???

    Current 2 metro track (Ascot/Belmont) status quo fully supported by PR, Thoroughbred industry bodies and influential participants.

    Not sure RWWA has a position.
