Whilst this may not be a sport, I know a fair few PTTer's are into their music, so I thought we'd have a little competition to see who can gues the most tracks to make it into the Top 10
Simply list 10 tracks like this:
Artist / Song title
I know that a website has claimed to know the winner of the hottest 100, but that shouldn't affect this comp, as each correct song you choose that makes it into the Top 10, gets 1 point, no extra for No.1 - just one point.
I will return soon to list my Top 10
Remember - this comp, is not your favourite Top 10 of the year, but which songs you think WILL be in the Top 10 - remember that when selecting your tracks.
If you need some help in remembering all the tracks of last year, try here - http://www.abc.net.au/triplej/hottest100/09/downloads/hottest100list_artist.pdf
Competition closes at the start of the countdown (9am) on Australia Day!
Good Luck!

Hottest 100 this year, NFI, i haven't checked out the list, but I reckon it will be something gay.
I wonder if there is any chance of them putting the countdown on the broadcast system at the yearling sale inspection? :)
Twas leaked....

I can't believe they won't let us bet on something we know the result of?
Spoiler alert: Hottest 100 winner leaked
Triple J's Hottest 100 is revealed annually on Australia Day. (ABC News)
It appears the ABC has accidentally leaked the winner of this year's Triple J Hottest 100.
Independent news website Crikey has published a screen shot of the ABC Shop website which promotes the February edition of JMag.
The preview reveals which band grabbed the top spot.
The page has now been taken down and Triple J management has refused to confirm or deny that the report is correct.
Betting agency Centrebet says the alleged leak of the winner will not impact on internet betting sites.
Centrebet spokesman Steven Hobbs says voting for the countdown has already closed so punters will not be affected.
"Our betting closes when the voting closes - obviously until the voting closes the winner is not known but once the voting closes, the betting closes so we couldn't be affected by any leak of the result," he said.
But Sportingbet Australia says it has closed all betting on the Hottest 100 countdown because of an information leak.
The Hottest 100 is revealed annually on Australia Day.
What a friggin' joke it got leaked - someone at the ABC screwed up big time!
By the way your others came in at No's 4, 7, 11, 13, 21, 28 and 47....

Coming to Perth for the Laneway Festival
And Grinspoon didn't make it
Good songs in their own right, but not one after the other for two hours !!!
I never vote, but yet I want everyone else to vote for the songs I like! :thumpsup3:
in all seriousness though if i was an artsit with a half decent hit that was gonna be a blast come summer/festival time and i wanted it to make the top 10, all you'd have to do to gaurantee that spot would be release that track a few months before the triple j top 100 is released..... get my drift?
if kasabian's fire had of been held off and released a couple months later than it did, then it would have finished top 10 and same goes for la roux's bulletproof (released approx 6 months ago) got thrashed on every station and in most pubs and clubs and due to that fact by the time the hottest 100 votes were polled and top 100 was released the song dropped a few spots than what it could have ideally finished at.
then take a look at the winner (mumford and sons) their hit was released around october i think (perfect timing to slot right in to the top 10 and finish at number 1......
That's ok, most people would agree with you there
the hippies (including my boss) wouldnt be happy being classed as a girlies for casting their votes
A few that spring to mind, Muse, Bluejuice, Kasabian, Groove Armada, Midnight Juggernauts, Mars Volta.
Don't want to get there until 2pm though, so Bluejuice might get the pass, sadly! Hate getting to these shows too early, otherwise you're knackered before the end of the show!
Any PTTer's going to the Big Day Out or any other festivals?
Blues and Roots should be good too!
