from the 11 august 2011 to present, he is 11th in the state for win percentage

boys, don't forget the parnham horse god has spoken drops to 53kg after that great run behind lucky....just a thought... With the barrier as well Falcon, I reckon GHS is a very strong change of running a massive race. One would be crazy not to put i…

My brother put him on one in the Apprentices Cup at Belmont without ever riding the horse. If i remember rightfully majority of the apprentices were already engaged and Ryan was one of the last ones left. He made the other apprentices look second ra…

Well Tivers, you have good mares which are hard to come by. It probably wouldnt matter what stallion they went to as I believe they'll still throw a winner!
-
to be frank, power princess has continuously improved over her career and has never taken a backward step. her run to black caviar was class, her trial at lark hill to resume her prep was class, her run in her previous win was class. She never dissa…

Alot of breeders have been saying that local studs advise them to upgrade their mares. I think it should be the other way around - studs should be upgrading their stallions and therefore we wouldn't be sending our mares over the east.

All good wedge! I thought it wasnt directed at me but it is healthy debate at the end of the day :). Oratorio has thrown cosistant metro winners but he hasnt thrown a genuine top line group 1 performer (not winner) and is being given every chance…

Just letting you all know that I am the standby jockey subject to me losing 22kgs in 2 weeks!

Whoops Tivers, Oratism was one of the ones i had in mind. I was very impressed with his run but wasn't impressed when i did my dough on him ;). Luckless run! Fingers crossed next start as she looks a nice prospect :) !

I wasn't bagging GH at all. I was just curious to see what other breeders thought about breeding to a stallion which has had a wind deficiency and whether it would put them off or not. Alot of the time breeders dont know the background to a stallion…

By the way, what are everyones thoughts on Balmont?

Theodor, as per your comment above, here come the oratorios! those good mares he got 2 or 3 years ago are producing right now.

Out of curiousity, knowing that Glass Harmonium has had two throat operations, would any breeders be keen to send their mares to him? Into It, i made that comment about Musket from what i observed on race days when i saw him. He would sweat up and g…

In the Sunday Times review of Saturday's races, they once reported on the big bets placed in the bookies ring. I liked reading those but for some reason they have been omitted for over 18 months now.

nice shots Damo. The first one makes me cry as i was on Oratism :(... unluckiest horse in running!

Luke's Luck for me in the Lee Steere ;)

Danny Morton nominating a maiden for the Winterbottom 8-|

I really like Barnsley Lad in the 4th. Covered alot of ground in a good Saturday field last start.

Can someone tell me why all this money has come for Mount Athos? the horse has only won a listed race and a group 3. fair dinkum... it has done nothing. Look at Dunedan and Red Cadeax...both haven't finished out of the money since the Cup last yea…

I would say that Helenus and Key Business have been given their fair share of top line mares in their time. but all of those stallions stand for less than $5k! quiet remarkable really.
-
I think i can pick up 2 themes here Tivers: 1) Those stallions mentioned have next to no northern dancer in their blood lines 2) All have been "forgotten about" stallions.
-
I agree with you Theodor, we haven't seen the best of Orotorio yet. I also think Viscount will have some handy 3 year olds over the next two years. He got some good mares in 2010/2011.

I personally think what Touchstone Farm did with bringing Danasinga to WA for a year was shear genius! he is the best stallion to touch down in WA in the past 5 years! Why doesn't WA studs shuttle proven eastern states group 1 winning/producing stal…

I firmly believe that none of the 3 year olds will figure in the first 4 places. Shoot Out is my bet.

It was only Barakey's first run. I thought it was a cracker run to carry 60kg first up. he'll go another 2 lengths quicker next start from that blow out.
-
Well done to Jimmy and Aristo!

Looks like hallowell belle is making the journey also for the winterbottom

I hear they were advised to bring as much money as they could to that meeting Fools Gold. Owners these days......

Currently, I think one of the best stallions in Australia is Commands. He never won above group 3 level. His full brother Danewin was 5 lengths a better horse but Commands was the better stallion. The key thing is that ATH has ran early which is a b…
