    Belmont Race 4

How the FAARRRKK can a horse (World Trader) run 2nd beaten a head.
And you do not mention it once from the 600
    Disgraceful.
I would be sacked if I was that bad at my job. :-q

Just on race callers. How good is that caller @ Goodwood in the UK.?I'm pretty sure it's the same caller that called Black Caviar's dramatic win.

    @therealkramer

Caller last bight was Stuart Makin.

The BC win was called by Simon Holt (who I agree has a similar voice to Stuart).

Ok, thanks. Both have a flair for the dramatic without compromising on accuracy.

Dmac was named last night at the awards dinner as the inaugural no 1 ticket holder at Perth Racing, a new innovation. "For services rendered"?. I thought Macca was paid for ALL his services.

...very odd and he doesn't even need a ticket, if its as I assume the #1 members ticket.
yes, he gets very well paid for all he does concerning racing..
    :-?? :-?

That's tough guys. He deserves that accolade. But I wish they had selected a person that would bring people to the races instead of someone who is working at the races. That part of it appears, pointless to me!

    Correct Rio

I don't think beyonce or one direction would bring people to the races.....
better food and lower prices on food and drink may attract a few....
nearly 30 bucks for a bottle of yellowglen you can pick up at the retailers for 6......
peroni nearly 10 which is under 50 for a carton of 24.....
and that's at the main bar..the vomitorium......!!!
  • RIORIO    14,902 posts
I'd expect the #1 ticket holder would have a table with 6 seats for every Saturday race meeting in the Boardroom dining area. So he could bring friends and associates to the races. Otherwise why have a #1 ticket holder????

Anyway DMac is a good ambassador, in years to come I hope they select personalities or businessmen who will bring new people to the track or promote the club better to people who have been around for years.

I'm a fan of Dmac I don't have any problems and I reckon he deserves the no 1 ticket. I think for next year though it would be good to select someone with a higher profile (or someone known to people who aren't racing fans) maybe coxy or Belly? Someone with which they can do some external advertising with possibly?

The link to the story in today's paper by Jay Rooney, regarding Darren McAullay being Perth Racing's initial #1 ticket holder.

but what does the #1 ticket holder entail? :-??
no way can Darren host party freebies in the committee room every week....they should have enunciated to what it entails.

No 1 ticket holder gets nothing, just the warm and fuzzy feeling that costs the club nothing. West coasts no 1 ticket holder is Danny ricciardo, how many games will he go to this season? It costs them sweet FA but they get good press from it.

I wish Daz would give up wasting a valuable few seconds explaining to the listeners or viewers that the "rider had lost the cloth part of their cap"!
Seriously nobody else gives a feck Daz. Save those precious seconds for describing the actual race.

he is more likely saying it to himself....caps are vital in the call.

Yeah that's fine Falc but he needs to know when to "say" it inwardly and when to say it outwardly.
