Freo Cup TabTouch Comedy

Harness & Greyhounds
Once upon a time, the Freo Cup was a great race...a stand, over the journey and a race on the tip of everyone's tongue down the Cappo strip. The TABtouch pre post market "updated December 30th", or so it says on its site, highlights the disregard for Harness Racing and begs the question as to why anyone would bother putting in a bid for the organisation.

Favourite at $6 is Ride High (almost certainly not coming), Ultimate Sniper (injured and in the paddock for 12 months) is $8, Buster Brady and Bling It On (not coming) at $9, Cruz Bromac (racing in the Auckland Cup tonight and definitely not coming) at $11.....or you may wish to back Wildwest at $26 ....last call, he had been sent to Sydney by the Hall Stable, same price as Jack Mac!!!!

Alta Orlando, referred to as a rising young star on TAB radio this morning....he is an 8 year old....is coming but bad luck, he is not even listed in the pre post market. Perhaps, at today's racing mass, a quick prayer for the TAB.....fancy putting that rubbish up on it's website.

Although I don’t follow harness racing it seems, JayJay, that they don’t just limit there idiocy to the Thoroughbreds.

And from what you just highlighted it seems they have even less disregard for Harness Racing, I didn’t think they could get any worse.

Just had a look out of curiosity and surprise surprise. There are 3 night meetings for the East Coast - Parkes, Albury and Melton, all have fixed odds.

GP and Bunbury do not. How do they expect people to take them seriously if they won’t even take them time to frame their own states racing themselves and get the odds up early.

It is like RWWA have completely given up, thrown there hands in the air and walked away disillusioned.
Yesterday's meeting at GP was a classic example of the **** they are happy to serve up to the industry and general public.
The impression I get is that majority af RWWA staff couldn't give a stuff about what happens in next two years from a industry perspective and at the end of the day they get paid well for not performing so why would they care.

For what its worth I like the $13 available Handsandwheels for both races. Yes he went poorly friday but that was never going to be his race. I think if you shop around you can back him EW for both races and if he just runs a drum in one of the two you should at least come out reasonably close to square.

Had a look at the markets a couple days after tiger tara was scratched he was 6/1 fav. couldn,t believe how many were in the top 12 that wouldn't be running. so jay- jay you have put up the update of none runners- how dare you leave tiger tara out of the  non runners.

    Fixed  markets on TABTOUCH  X(

Mate had a horse in Albany last Friday the Sports Bet fixed market was up at least 6 hours
before Tabtouch decided to open betting.

The moral of the story Sportsbet got my money over Tabtouch. (and got it, horse got rolled)

Not saying I want privitisation of TAB but sure as apples fall off tree's, private concern would be getting markets up as early as they can, appears Tabtouch don't care, as profit it seems not the bottom line, just safe jobs.

With the Tabtouch Fremantle Cup markets - if go to the betting conditions ( fine print ) mentions "all in market"..we know what that means, but being a market before nominations their also should be a proviso that if your selection is not nominated - you are then entitled to a refund.

Surely that is still the case, any bookmaking firm worth there salt always states - "if not nominated money refunded".

Can't see that on Tabtouch - it should be there somewhere. It'd be a bit cruel if they took your money and your horse hasn't even been nominated. Once nominated and afterwards your selection scratched - then they take the cash.

Info on Tabtouch says pre noms betting is subject to all in rules.
So....whose interest is it in to have horses who are definitely out .....still in.

There has been no bigger putrid going -ons then when Auckland reactor wasn't even nominated for 2009 inters, purdon said he wasn't going in January so not nominated,at all ,they commence all in betting low behold purdon pays a late entry fee of 22k. on feb mon 23. remembering  for the previous 5 weeks not one ticket was issued with Auckland reactor name. they then put him 3/1 favourite…….First rounds heats which when betting stopped was 11-12 march. for the all in component.
When I  brought it to there attention in QLD,how this plays out, once they realized, what took place in the market place, Had a very apologetic man, saying this would never happen again or if there was a late nomination clause a seperate market would open, or a single price for the late noms. W.A. response, was now that Auckland reactor was in your pick will drift, not if you were already locked to a  price, prior to the inclusion of A.R. I know that got to win for the sake of the codes, just a half pie chance for the punters.

Every Corporate Bookie states on futures betting before nominations, that it's an all in market - however if the horse in our markets is not nominated ( hard for the punter to win when horse your on not even nominated ) your money is refunded ( big deal ).

Tabtouch can't even put that up on there betting conditions - why not ? Possibly because if not nominated - you lose. Otherwise should put it up.

If you can get better odds on markets with % approaching Mt Everest proportions and happy to lose your money if don't make it to the final field stage - then go for it!

Am taking it that you have to make it to final field stage - and then do get a refund if scratched after that, but uncertain on that one.

If have $100 on Galactic Star now - and it's scratched on the morning of the race - not sure if get your $100 back or not. It's all in so no, but made it to final field stage so yes.

Curmudgeon that's true but at the moment nobody is in or out - no nominations have been taken.

You can even ask a bookie for a quote on a horse - I want $500 on Robert The Bruce ( go Cisco! ) to win the Fremantle Cup - what odds will you give me - and BetEasy would say 8/1.

Robert The Bruce - when nominations taken not there of course - bet refunded.

The gurus who put together this nonsense of a pre-nom market obviously think that Jilliby Kung Fu will attempt to win the Freo Cup first up from July 18th, and that $11 is good value. Ride High still 2nd favourite and no sign of Alta Orlando entering the market. My Field Marshall into $4.50, so the market is being adjusted.....by whom, who knows....perhaps Mrs Kafoop's from the corner store has the gig. Cruz Bromac also still well in the market, fresh off its start in the Auckland Cup. Great look from the TAB, normally you wash and polish your car prior to putting it up on Gum Tree.

I saw a bloke back My Field Marshall Freo Cup at TAB other day he had $10.00 on the nose.
    That would explain the shortening.

Adam Hamilton said Alto Orlando has got very good gate speed when asked on the radio this morning,
He then asked what price you got Alto Orlando?

Oh he not in the market was the reply.

They interviewed Luke McCarthy monday saying he was definitely coming.

    What a joke.
