Nardini, the suck horse, was scratched today which was a blessing for me after backing it every start this campaign

Who else has a horse that owes them a squillion? Retired or active, doesn't matter

Am still feeling the pain when champion horse Veandercross was runner up in the 1992 Melbourne Cup to Subzero. Every time I see Subzero and his grin I'm sure it's directed at me and he's now 26 years old! A lot of pain I've had to carry. Great horses both of them . Subzero loved the wet and that was the difference.

Subzero was bought by FBI to win the Golden Slipper for connections, how far out could you be.

True Falcon Veandercross was handy in the wet for sure , but Subzero was a grey! And you know that saying about greys in the wet. He was a fraction more suited by the conditions of the two . Also Subzero was ridden a treat by Greg Hall. Another bad one for me was had units on the quinella in 1994 Cup Juene and roughie Oompala .. Oompala looked a moral to run 2nd and then that bulldog Paris Lane under Damien Oliver has kicked back in the run to the line and gained second. Oompala was a handy stayer from Sydney in the mould of Mr Prudent who ran second to Media Puzzle.

Never been a big punter but years ago, I would lay the ears back once or twice a year if the info was good or ....you know the old days, if there was a good go about to happen, get on board. I climbed on board Red Vicar, one of my favorite horse ever, weeks before the Brisbane Interdominions. It was hard to get set in those days but get set we did, long before the float headed off across the Nullabor. It's nigh on 40 years ago but I can't bear to watch the video of him galloping away at Albion Park in the final before steaming home to run 4th. An absolute stone cold certainty beaten and it's stayed with me ever since. Never bet with money borrowed from your parents......didnt eat or sleep well for weeks haha.

    Kyleena!...
Had her 1 out in the last leg of quad for 100% when she couldn't get over long knife at Northam..(looked a cert halfway down the straight...)
Since then she's had 5 starts for 2 wins....been on for all the loses only, forgot to back her today.

Haha there are none actually I was making a cheeky point that there are many of Millers who have burnt many a gamblor I'm sure.

He did have a grand run for a while though some time ago.

Campo Di Grano was an old favourite of mine that sucked a few bob out of me. It had 21 starts in town over the 1000m and led to the turn in 20 of them but only won twice. You would think it was home and it would run out of gas just before the line. It won 3 out of 4 starts in the country though.

King Kool Kat cost me a bit on the punt in it's first 50 starts.

Thermo King was another one I followed for a while that ended up with 1 win from 51 starts.

Courage Under Fire...1 race where he got nutted by Tailamade Lombo and the race at the Valley (interdom or vic cup??) when he head butted the mobile before release. Bloody Shakamaker won from memory...

I had some decent collects on the little picket rocket earlier in his dominant 3yo season but as a 21-22 year old i dropped much more than i should have on those 2 races in particular, in his open age career...i still think he got the photo in that race against TL. I was sh!tting my pants waiting for the result and just went numb when it came through!!
