I think 'great effort' is just a tad over the top, she was pretty flat today after being given an easy run, she is a 2yo on her first prep so forgive the run and look forward to the next one...

The ups and downs of racing I will not be surprised if she pulls up a bit shinny her action over the last 200m looked a bit high so could have felt the track but still a good effort.

$2,400.00 prize money for running fourth, not to be sneezed at.
It would take you a long way on a bus.

Finally got my head off the pillow. She appears to have pulled up okay. Close to 2weeks in a green paddock and then to see if she can come up for a tilt at the major 2yr old races in 6-8 weeks.

She was flat as a 20 yr old carpet yesterday. Positioned beautifully by Knucks, got out on the bend and the heart skipped a beat......then nothing

Slick time, and she didn't drop right off.. It,was the test that she needed and I personally thought that she did okay and to think that she covered an extra 100 m in just over 4 seconds. Is good enough for me.

Great day had with so many owners and PTT'ers. Big sorry to Carlosa for missing your text. The handful that moved to the air conditioned bar for the owners had a day of flat out drinking and talking. Mrs RIO and I had a great day..
And we got another cheque!!!! You bewdy

I looked for you all....had a few beers with h-bomber and then went home...after getting kicked out of the 1st floor bar for wearing shorts!! what a mob of cretins!!
contacted my mate peter gangemi...said it will be sorted asap.apparently a few mates of peter bell copped the same treatment....that may have been the catalyst, not me.... :))
fair dinkum..its a PUBLIC area...no wonder the place is on the skids..run by gold plated idiots.

the day essayez won? no problems then, except they banned thongs.
this short lived rule came into brief effect from 1st feb.
  • youknowityouknowit    271 posts
Was on the first floor yesterday and there were many patrons walking around in shorts. The only people that i saw asked to leave were those wearing rubber thongs. Dont think thats a bad thing. Not to difficult to wear sandals or shoes surely.
  • TheDivaTheDiva    13,248 posts
Last week there were blokes prevented from going in there with dress shorts, button up shirt and shoes. the reason given was they were wearing shorts. The bloke in question left the track and went home. Cant see anything wrong with thongs myself. Those blokes still spend their money at the bar, they still bet and they buy food. Im not sure PR can afford to be so choosy with their customers, they need to get as many as possible.
Understand tho that there are areas you do need to dress appropriately (mounting yard, members), but that part of the stand has always been for the public and when its close to 40 degrees, where do you expect them to go?
  • RIORIO    14,902 posts
agree...a public area is an area for the public.....come as you are and we'll accept you happily....should be the policy.

Restaurants, function areas, members, mounting yard and all restricted entry areas have dress policies...the rest should be open slather.

To know that the club spent my money - as a fully paid member - to create a great area for the public to come and relax in; then kick the public out of that area due to how they dress is pretty ordinary...In fact if the aren't allowed in there where else can the general public go where there is air conditioning???
