So is anyone going to pay the extra $25 to see Birds Of Tokyo at the end of the day, or are the punters just gonna grab 2-3 drinks and watch/listen from afar!

:-? Maybe they are banking on a fresh crowd turning up for BOT   :-??

For 95% of the horses that run in the Emirates that race is their 'grand final'. A lot of tired horses afterwards. The theory that many runners from the Emirates would automatically come over to run in the Railway has started to wear thin. Super Saturday is a fantastic day , but it's a pity that more eastern staters can't be attracted. 2 Group 1 handicaps over 1600 metres 2 weeks apart in different states may not be the answer and we know the Emirates day will never shift! Of course only talking as a punter if was an owner I wouldn't want any of the buggers to come! But just think it's disappointing the lack of interstate representation. The Perth Cup this year had zero interstate horses , wow even Tasmania and Darwin get horses from the East to run in there Cups. The answers I'm not sure , but I really did enjoy the old Christmas Carnival. :-?

It would appear that PR have changed this now - can't find where there is a seperate ticket for BOT, maybe they got smart, the ticket page has now been updated with this:

Your general admission ticket includes access to the Birds of Tokyo performance post races. Birds of Tokyo will commence at 5:45pm

Very successful Perth pop rock band.  Think they've been suggested for SS multiple times in the past!  Actually are a really good choice for SS, be surprised (if they are including them in the GA price) if they don't get some 5k listening on after the last!

You may know their songs purely from the TV.

Happy birthday Damien - I'm 46 today, so from one Scorpio to another - have a great day! (I do know Birds of Toyko.. Having teenagers around helps ) - they are well worth a look, very good music.

Birds of Tokyo have played at an AFL Grand Final so that is an indication of their popularity and exposure. Someone of my vintage would prefer a CCR revisited but those under 60 would not know what I am talking about.

You'd be surprised how many of the younger generation know exactly who CCR are!

@Damien Wyer  You will know Birds Of Tokyo from watching the footy, always use their songs when showing a highlights clip or fading into or out of an add break. Use to be the ducks nuts, nowdays are just another commercial pop/rock band. Good on them thought, the choice to replace guitars with keyboards no doubt has been very good for them financially.

    On racing

I like Arcadia Dream in the Guineas -run yesterday was massive again just needs  Pike on its back and it wins

Cant split Real Love and Delicacy they are both thrown in at the weights

Winterbottom -They markets are so wrong on this race they have Lucky St as equal fav or 2nd fav ?? and Silverstream at 13s ,Silverstream killed Lucky St last start gave it 5 lengths and ran it down hard held ,Magnifisio and Buff are right in it

Im tipping another Cerise and White show next Saturday ,Celebrity Dream ,Neverland ++

And the KT is all but over the filly yesterday wins that untouched upto 1800m she is very special   gets in with 50kg she will then head east i think for the Autumn

Why is London line $17 for next sat? Surely if he haf Arcadia Rose's trip he would have run on as well if not better? The Cobla is $14 and London Lone had beat him fair and share their last two.

Really pleased that Magic Artist is coming. Hopefully all good for the Railway , his 2 runs at Flemington were both great efforts. If he draws well I think he is the one to beat then on to the Kingston Town!

Hard to believe but it will be 15 years since Northerly won the Railway Stakes ridden by Dashing Dan Miller. Might be a good move on Magic Artist being kept fresh for the Kingston Town. He's going to being an interesting runner Railway and or Kingston Town, think he will like a fast Ascot track.

Shhh! Don't let the secret out Gilgamesh, just take the $17! This guy was $8 last start when he won, always seems to be unwanted in the market despite there being nothing wrong with his form.

    from barriers 13, 15 & 14 the year before
