R1. Iss Plate - Scott Embry
The highly fancied Jim Taylor 3 year old Prime Witness was excellent on debut, was heavily supported in pre-post markets from $4.40 into $1.80 and then drifted back out to $4.50 on the jump on betfair. Worked hard from an outside barrier and sat outside the speed before Jordan galloper Castle Queen was able to get a juciy rails run and nail him on the line. Should be improved for that outing, gets blinkers added to gear and should find the fence to lead here if they wish. This is a very moderate group of opponents, much more like a midweek field than a Saturday race so I think he will be winning this for owner Rick Heart. Kentucky Lass is hard to catch but talented, as is Snack Pack who gets the services of W.Pike.
5. PRIME WITNESS - 2. KENTUCKY LASS - 1. SNACK PACK
SUGGESTED BET - 5. PRIME WITNESS $100

Laying Quality Fair is how I think I'll be playing this race. I think out of the top 4 chances, Antique Dream, Wicked Hunter, Quality Fair and even Danish Delight that it is the weak link. I don't like its winning chances and will be taking a stance against it. Happy to take it on and leave it out all together. Hard to split Antique Dream, who is in a rich vein of form, and bounce back winner Wicked Hunter. I've gone with the cerise and white and put Antique Dream on top but without any real confidence. Wicked Hunter was excellent last start when charging down the outside to give a steroid infused boost to my quaddie, interesting to see if he can repeat the performance. Danish Delight probably the value horse in the race, always chases hard and can figure in the finish again at around 7-1.
5. ANTIQUE DREAM - 4. WICKED HUNTER - 8. DANISH DELIGHT
Another early race that I'm not at all keen on getting invested in. Putting Gigante on top as he is probably the most consistent and fool-proof galloper in the field. Will settle outside the lead or atleast in the first couple and whack away on speed and should run a drum. Tudor Bolt was good in the Provincial Spint final behind Ripper Red, who Ripped them a new one down the middle of the track. He should get a cosy run off the speed for Jake Casey who is riding in career best form and give a genuine sight even though up sharply in class. Malibu Style is the class runner in the race and is definitely closing in on an overdue win. Barrier 1 is a slight question mark as to where he gets in the run but should be right there as always. Vengabus will be supported (as always) and looks the likely leader on paper. Proceed with caution.
5. GIGANTE - 9. TUDOR BOLT - 2. MALIBU STYLE
Silverstream will win this, almost as simple as that. She is far better than any of these gallopers and as long as she isn't completely luckless or ready for the paddock she will stream to victory, only question is, by how far? No fixed odds available yet as I write the preview but I'd be expecting somewhere around the $1.20 mark. Travinator was handy first-up in the downpour which apparently hit Perth, I wouldn't know, I was smashing life in Exmouth on a boat full of beers! His Ascot and 1000m record speaks for itself and he can run a drum with ease. Detection should ensure there is a genuine tempo so Pininci should be storming home alongside Silverstream and go close to running in the money. If you're looking for a multiplier in multi's then Silverstream should give you some more bank interest.
5. SILVERSTREAM - 1. TRAVINATOR - 2. PININCI
SUGGESTED BET - 5. SILVERSTREAM $100
This race looks absolutely picture perfect for Cosmic Storm. 54kg, W.Pike, delicious barrier draw and a relatively small field. I think we can lock her in straight out as one of the better best on the card and yet another Saturday Metro Winner for....you guessed it, Bob Peters! Sticking with the roughie of the field in Galaxy Prince who I think has come back very well in the care of Adam Fairey and can run another cheeky race at odds. Once he gets up to the 2000m he will steal one, I'm pretty confident of that. Sireeze is racing in very good form but just can't crack it for a victory. Hasn't won a race since the 2014 Hannans Handicap but continues to run eyecatchers. This is easier than his previous few and no surprise to see him run yet another minor placing.
7. COSMIC STORM - 4. GALAXY PRINCE - 3. SIREEZE
SUGGESTED BET - 7. COSMIC STORM $100
Sounding like a broken record on this preview but I'm sticking to my guns and going with Blackwood to get the big race victory she deserves. Has been enormous this preparation, far from embarrassed in the Kingston Town she was 3 and 4 wide up near the speed throughout and showed incredible heart on a wet track to keep whacking away when given no favours in running fifth. Gets a massive pull in the weights against her main, and arguably only rival, Ideal Image, a whopping 7kg. She can win this, get on board. Ideal Image a slight question mark at a mile for mine but we'll see just how good she really is. Quinella her with Blackwood and trifecta them both with Fashion Princess who has come back a treat this preparation and will win one of these races very soon. The mile is right up her alley and can't fault any run this time in.
12. BLACKWOOD - 1. IDEAL IMAGE - 5. FASHION PRINCESS (NZ)
SUGGESTED BET - 12. BLACKWOOD $50 x $50
Heard there is still $1.70 available for Delicacy which in itself is a Delicacy to many punters. She was very, very heavily supported in the Kingston Town and was only just held out by an undefeated SuperStar in Perfect Reflection who carried an incredible 6.5kg owing to the fact she is a 3 year old. Delicacy looks to have a mortgage over this race and no doubt Bob already has a 5 word acceptance speech ready to go for his typical short and sweet post race interviews, "yes, mmmm we'll see, thankyou". Delicacy looks on paper as though she will win this race and then start a short priced favourite in the Perth Cup. Real Love to run second, trained by WA's best in Adam Durrant she looked primed for another Perth Cup tilt. Kirov Boy will ensure the race is entertaining and Dashing Danny Miller will be looking to run them into the ground and flounder home into a minor placing.
11. DELICACY - 10. REAL LOVE - 6. KIROV BOY
SUGGESTED BET - 11. DELICACY $100
All the best to Jordan Turner and Chris Parnham in their respective recoveries from Wednesday's fall, thankfully neither are seriously injured and we'll see the two young guns back in action sooner rather than later. With a broken cheek bone Turner won't be riding Saturday so the question remains, who will ride Lunar Eclipse? I'm tipping Jason Brown or Jerry Noske. Lunar Eclipse was absolutely electric last start when Magic Turner pulled him to the outside and was a soft winner in the end. This race doesn't look any harder and should go close to winning again. Vital Edition's preview few runs have been better than they read numerically and it would be no surprise to see him bob up at juicy odds to blow open the quaddie. Dark Alert has W.Pike who could have easily ridden 4 winners by this stage so expect the best hoop in the west to go mighty close to another bag. Last preview before Christmas so wishing everyone a happy, and more importantly, safe Christmas. May Santa bring you beer and winners. Finally, with the PTT Quaddie Club getting underway this weekend I've settled on: 7 / 1,12 / 11 / 1,2,3,5,7,9 - $120 = 10x
3. LUNAR ECLIPSE - 7. VITAL EDITION - 5. DARK ALERT
