Thought i'd get the thread started. No real preview as I haven't had time to look closely at the form but at a glance it has to go close to the worst quality Friday night meeting on record. (And that's being positive). My last meeting before a bit of jet setting so hopefully can find a way to end the night with pockets full.
Using the 365 market.
R1: Cavalry Call a place looks nice at $8.
R2: Stunin Eyes Only the place at $9.
R3: Our Jeremes Gem EW is one of the few races I might have a decent bet.
R4: Whozideawasthis but he is far too short.
R5: Another race worth a bet. Novelties anchoring Forever Remembered and El Hombre and something EW Forever Remembered.
R6: Run One Over, if I backed them that short I think the $1.35 is a fair price.
R7: Courage Tells. Its not the right race, right draw, right run, right driver and I won't be backing him but I did like his last run.
R8: Ready For Take Off. He is a very average horse but he should be $1.50 as this is his chance to lead and there is nothing here that can run past him and he is currently $3.30

Weakfish field and 10/1 bar those two but a very brave punter would take $2.40 Billy Mack .

RJ Bopper went around Tuesday night unplaced at 33/1 tomorrow night early quote 4/1 :-\"
42 times unplaced out of 45 runs and there the five favourites. Shameful. ( Unless you back the winner of course! )

That is a brilliant stat!

Idont know how they do it - but Victoria - the money looks fantastic - there seem to be endless number of rich - 20-30k semi finals for 2 and 3 year old races - and then like last Sunday - they have about 6 or 7 100k to 200k finals . Maybe its like the Bathurst series where owners pay a number of nomination and acceptance fees along the way etc
Also the young squaregaiters aernt left out - not unusual for Maryborough to host 10 rich troting races on the one card etc
Victoria looks the best reward for an owner - fluke a top horse and you hit the jackpot

Ive never known a trainer to continually dominate year in year out with new young horses - and i think their all locally bred ( ie -their not NZ imports i dont think - you dont have to be that clever to bring them over )
She must have breeders - or owners - who breed or buy great stock year in year out
And her horses are nearly unbeatable - take her horses on ( like i did at Geelong Wednesday night - and i wish i hadnt of ) and you will end up penniless
A very strong client base means there is a production line of classically bred stock for her to finish off which she does brilliantly.
As one that recently went down the NZ import path, let me assure you that you do have to be clever, very clever...and with deep pockets..."to bring them over"...there is an old joke about being locked in a room with a Lion, a shotgun and a ......well, you know the rest of it. They have never forgiven us for the underarm delivery. Caveat Emptor.

And I chose Cott Beach as an example deliberately as her 5th dam, the aforementioned Widow Bingen is also the dam of Dainty Widow, the dam of Dainty's Daughter. And Scott's Way, the sire of Dainty's Daughter was a NZ imported son of Noble Scott, also bred by Sir John McKenzie in 1940....so if the importers hadn't imported, there would never have been a Dainty's Daughter foaled in a dusty paddock up at Cunderdin.
Dodo class told in the end.Khun Ratha was very good . The Auctioneer yes the PTT pin up girl into the placings. Argyle Red going terribly four runs in all ordinary at best. Glow Bright battled away in his style and the rest good night.
Majestic Prince , Bettor Twisted and Charlie El . The Prince might be the one at a good tote price.
Chris Voak 10/10 drive to find the pegs behind the leader just slotting in before Lewis got there and won him the race. Give your drive every possible chance and the rest looks after itself..and that's what Voak did.
If anybody in the future tries to tip you Webb Ellis or Magestic Prince ...listen carefully, nod your head , be in agreeance....then slowly turn around and run for the hills!
Thought Our Jeromes from 1 would get his chance to win but alas not. Keep asking myself why I am bothering with this meeting...but too foul to even think of leaving the house. Le Miserable...and treading very lightly just for interest.
But Woodley is the one - the roughies he's been getting into the money - remarkable.
