An Ascot preview for 18/3/20

West Australian Racing
Hoping the beginners luck can take effect with attempt #2 on here

R1- Visors could be the key to DIAMOND TRADE breaking through. Forgetting her first up flop, the runs this prep have been good enough to suggest she should be winning a race and won’t get a better chance to do so than this.

R2- OUR BOY DYLAN looks capable of knocking off the promising IMA SINGLE MAN with the benefit of race experience. Dropping back to 1000 suits and should be able to find the fence pretty comfortably. From there he gives a sight.

R3- SECRET PEARL was thrown in the deep end last start in the 1000 Guineas and can improve sharply third up, out to 2200. Was a strong winner third up last prep and was a handy run at her sole attempt at a staying trip. Has the tactical speed to put herself in a position and from there should be in the finish at a price.

R4- EXPRESS TIME set Belmont Park alight at her recent trial and looks set to return a winner. Was a good win on debut when racing throughout and despite the wide draw may be able to find a spot in a likely fast run race. Regardless she looks a filly with her fair share of ability.

R5- EXCELLENT DREAM is well placed back into a class one. Has the speed to cross from 10 and although he may spend a bit of petrol getting across he appears to be suited when allowed to role. Coming out of fast run races, leading or breezing he’ll be hard to run down.

R6- BEST BET: METRO BOY returns to the races on a Wednesday in what appears a very shallow race. Raced exclusively in tougher grade last prep and all three runs had merit. Goes good fresh and likely follows TIME TO SIZZLE across to sit outside her and she will have a hard time shaking him off.

R7- SAKARYA comes out of a fast run race when only beaten by a handy horse in Tollman and has really improved this time in. Unbeaten in town and looks hard to beat in race where she should be able to lead and dictate.

R8- REVEUSE goes good at 1800 and should really appreciate the drop back to a class one. Can take advantage of barrier one and make the most of the cutaway when it comes. Can lack a killer blow but shouldn’t find many chances like this.

Good luck and happy punting
