You could do a lot worse mate.
She was a very good race bitch but I believe she hasn't had any pups to race yet.
    I wish you luck.

Well done to KRAH guys and in very smart time.
More money in the kitty woo hoo.

I love pedigree's and breeding the dogs as you can study and the bitch comes on (no breeding season) 9 weeks later she has her pups (horse 11 months) 18 months later I have a good idea if I can put together a pedigree (the foal is only being weaned) 18 months later the dogs have won 6 Grp1's and gone to stud (the horse has trialed and ran 7th and gone shinny lol go the doggies I'll turn you all soon enough 'evil laugh'...

Crash aka KRAH lived up to his name last night in spectacular fashion. He was hit hard going into the bend and summersaulted 3 times, being collected by most of the field on the way past.

The trainer thought he was in a lot of trouble as he saw it unfold, but we seem to have had a big slice of luck go our way. There where no breaks and this morning he is showing no ill effects of the tumbles.

I went and saw him and he is jumping around in his normal headless chook sort of routine before feed time and if all settles well over the next day or two, will be back on the track in about a week..

Mrs RIO may put up the video today that shows him trotting over the line well after the racing was over, but in what looked reasonable condition.

    Awesome news Rio

Didn't look good, But glad to hear he is okay, Looked like he was about to put a few lengths on them too.

    X_X

But to all concerned, hopefully no mental scars and he bounces back to winning form.

Thanks guys. He was just hitting his stride and edging ahead of the outside dog in an area where he does his best work. I thought he would have just got under him there and cruised 4 or 5 ahead for another great win....

Still not sure what happened and we have watched it heaps of times on big screens, little screens, HD vision...and we can only suggest it was a slight touch of legs or maybe a really slight touch by the dog behind..

But that's the dogs.. A good dog to a limping family pet in the blink of an eye!!!

And as you say Jumly, the test is now to see if he is still okay between the ears..

For those who are following, he is nominated for Saturday and we expect him to go around as he is showing no signs of physical issues. And he has had a few runs since the fall.

The test will be between the ears and although he looks and feels like he was before the tumble, we wont know that for sure until after a few runs and we see if he will still put himself though gaps as he has in the past.

First step is to race again...Think it is race 12 on Saturday!!!!!

Early days but is fave on the tote - been tipped to run 3rd.

One major difference between the dogs and the horses is the amount of info you get about your dog - basically SFA - actually SFA is probably being generous - so have no idea whether or not to have a good go (or to tip him) or not :-??

I have no idea what a tip is and what good fortune is...so dont ask me.

@Fastmoney is he a chance or is he just short cos he did well before the crash??!?!?!? And dont tell me he is in the top two. As the other dog is rated 100 and Crash is 99..so i already have that opinion

Good call Rio - I suppose at the level we are going around in - good fortune plays a bigger part than it does for the open class dogs
beat the 3 dog 2 starts ago - however we started from inside it.
Hopefully he flys the boxes and gives it windburn [-O<

    Staying out of it.

    No bet race for me.

1, 5 & 6 can all show pace, 3 is the best dog but can miss the kick.

Got you at $5.50 (2nd fav) in my market.

thought i said i wanted an opinion????? haha

I didn't have the 5 in it. But thought it if it could get over the 3 then the race was his to win....Think he will get the 1 dog easily......So with all that I'll have a tenner on him to win!?!?!?!? Cos i have no confidence that i know jack5hit about how to do form on dogs!!!! haha

My son is diving in with $100 bills, and if he loses will probably ring me tomorrow and hit me for a loan!!!!

Krah received a check trying to cross over, which probably cost it two lengths.

too try Duke, and he got so close to crossing the 1 dog.

2 great things from the run for me after his tumble.

    1. he got out okay and showed no sign of injury as we expected

    2. He rubbed shoulders with the 7/6 dog on the way across and didn't baulk at the contact.

So onwards we go...So happy to still have a dog after that tumble, and I reckon he was only 2 or 3 strides from getting to the lead and potentially staying there. The wider barriers (um, maybe gates!!! haha) appear to be his place at this stage and especially over 380 at Cannington.

:D =D> <:-P  some very happy first time owners. We did it with Essy in the thoroughbreds and to think we have been that lucky again with our first dog!!! Amazing, when Krah pays back the initial investment I may have to have a look at a trotter.

    ;)

Rio I was going to like your last post but you ended it with buy a trotter.
If it's not broken don't fix it 'go the doggies'.
I just bought another bitch a couple of days ago and to transfre the quality of pups I've bought in the last few weeks to horse language I was the Hong Kong jockey club at the magic millions.
I will have some very nice pups in the coming year or two and I'll hold them very tightly but I've enjoyed watching the ride you guys are having so if the times right and you all want another I will look after you.
    Go Krah.

    Go Krah.

We will be going with another dog and am sure the timing of your pups will be spot on...Just that I may as well have a throw at the stumps and see if I can make it 3 from 3, once Krah has got us in the black.

Irrespective of what you put into an animal, whether it is $10k or $200k, I have never been involved in the process of getting it back - or knowing that you wont get it back - like I have with the dogs. Krah started racing 10 weeks ago (roughly) and is only 2 wins away from full cost recovery. Imagine how many more years I'd have to wait with a thoroughbreds to see if it was going to be the best 5year old stayer ever born!!!! haha

I always liked going to the dogs as it is pretty well nonstop entertainment...but to own one is even more exciting once they are up and running. Time to track is the same, but return or sack is so much quicker...and as stated at the top, whether $10 or $200k within 8 weeks you know what you have got.

one interested share holder here. i started with dogs in the early 90's driving from windsor to lithgow on a saturday morning in winter with ice and snow on the bells line of road for a maiden with $55 first prize. if i still love the dogs after that then nothing will put me off. My last one was Zan citi about 2005-6 so im due to get back into it.
