Rig is the lay term for a cryptorchid. 1 or both testes undescended. Google cryptorchidism for a full explanation.
p.s it costs a lot more to geld a rig because the surgery is a lot more complicated.

Keyhole surgery that has little impact on the horse who can resume work almost immediately by comparison to castration methods, or so I am told.

What a cracking meeting today at Bunbury.

I've done all the hard work and narrowed it down to two chances in each race. I'll supply some selection at big odds for some of the races if I feel an upset is brewing.

    1/3 JAKESTAR, 7 NATIVE CHIMES
2/8 AGENT KENSINGTON, 9 GRACIE BE
3/2 GIANT LEAP, 7 MR DELEGATOR
    4/3 LYLE'S STYLE, 4 ORISTANO
5/5 SHAKE THE BLOOM, 7 BLAISZEN CAZAH
    6/4 SEMIGEL, 5 SHE'S GOT MERIT - BIG ODDS CHANCE 3 STRASMORE
7/1 TOLLMAN, 5 THUNDER BOOM - BIG ODDS CHANCE 2 BLACKWOOD RIVER
8/2 PLATOON, 5 FREE TRADE - BIG ODDS CHANCE 3 THE CELT
9/1 TAWNY PETE, 5 HENTY GAL - BIG ODDS CHANCE 2 FIRE MAKER

Should get 9 winners from 9 races with these.

    Good luck with your thoughts.

Before the spell and two duck eggs was unplaced in consecutive runs at Newman, Mt. Magnet and Meekatharra.

Meekatharra was the Cup though - ran 4th in a field of 5 beaten a touch over 20 lengths - eye catcher.

Blinkers first time. The 2nd ultimate gear change only bested by having your nuts removed

By the very good Casino Prince won a few races that bloke and was pretty handy, placed in a Australia Cup and Doncaster Handicap.

You could study that race for a week and defy anybody that would've thrown it into top five - exceptions being - gear change punters - Casino Prince breeding - back the number - or follow the hoop. There's more than one way to skin a cat but even so, if you've ever seen them unplaced three times in a row on those tracks - it's not actually inspiring.

Things can change and wins with a leg in the air.

Thought Our Boy Dylan would lead and win, just like taking wheat of a blind chook, after he missed the start-----,confetti,----- glad I stopped, now there coming homes with no names, 26 starts before the hood was applied, giving every chance to perform without, New trainers third run with the gambler. he was onto it.

Information on Twitter was that they would be more forward and try to lead with Lexden Gambler. When it got to the front never headed! You would have had your life on Shake the Bloom at the 250m mark

Happy Bunbury Stakes day fellow PTTers

I hope Paul Roberts makes it a double with Tawny. Loved the win of Tollman, big grey looking down the middle

I was on Shake The Bloom. I backed Lexden Gambler when it won a weak maiden at Narrogin and it fell in. I vowed never to back it again.

Gee they are an even bunch behind the winner!!
  • Ridersonthestorm33Ridersonthestorm33    10,809 posts
Too easy the winner and yep about a nose, by a nose, by a nose the next four or five.
  • Ridersonthestorm33Ridersonthestorm33    10,809 posts
I reckon The Celt 2 and Platoon 3

My thoughts exactly live. More hope with Platoon to run a drum second though

Tell Em We're Commin couldn't have had it much softer and misses top four, Dutch Spy perfect ride and run to finish fourth, Platoon was going nowhere at one stage, finished off the best of them, The Celt nearly the rank outsider good effort.
  • H-BOMBERH-BOMBER    10,257 posts
Platoon looks like it's in for a good prep. Very good late

Next bob and Platoon a clear second, just on the line The Celt stuck the head out and it finished off ok too.

Pretty dam good Free Trade...needed him to win at Pinjarra three runs ago to take out Favourite Numbers ( not a big divvy ) but of course no luck whatsoever and for fave numbers - not on ya nelly!

Comes out and wins the big one at Pinny and now the Bunbury Stakes...been a very consistent horse just the same. On speed and strong, a bit like a certain Alligator Blood does, their worth there weight in gold, when race like that.
  • RodentRodent    7,043 posts
They're worth their weight in gold all right.
  • Ridersonthestorm33Ridersonthestorm33    10,809 posts
If Free Trade doesn't run its a driving five way finish!
Flower would've led, Spy breeze, Commin fence, Platoon might have swooped them! Or The Celt of course.

Ok if proved wrong, and he wasn't that far away Tell Em We're Commin but no he's on the outer.
Struck a teriffic purple patch including the Northam Cup...not disgraced today, but every hope too, or appeared to.

Just trying to think of on speed - strong sprinting horses in Australia - there's been plenty, just can't think of one haha - not leaders, but race top 4 or 5 and like Bulldogs to get past. Free Trade has that attribute in spades.

Hope you did and got one of your long priced first fours with your Tawny Pete rodent. Pretty rough second and third.

Whoops thought that was Aluminize at 50/1 third...seeing things :-B

What definetly did see - how impressive the winner.

Just listened to Julio's interview with Michael Lane. He was asked about looking ahead to the Spring and the choice of going towards a Winterbottom or the Railway. He didn't really know which way to go.

I have always thought that to win a Gr 1 1200M you need to be a strong 1400M horse as racing at that level is seldom like a routine Saturday 1200M.

    What do people think ?
