The Masters Nominations

West Australian Racing
Very Interesting to see Ballydoyle nominating 2 horses for the Winterbottom... it would be a huge coup for Perth Racing !

Why would they bother, it's evident our (Aus) sprinters have their donkeys covered... in saying that it would be be great for PR to have Aidan O'Brien make an appereance

Definitely be a major Achievement for PR if Aidan O’Brien can come and win putting The Masters on the international map

At a quick glance I thought all races had an excellent ES flavour to them. Whether they come or not a different story I suppose.

Hartnell would be a great get for the KT

He was terrific again on Saturday in the Toorak Handicap. Winner of an Epsom Handicap. Won the Group One BMW. Placed behind Winx in a Cox Plate..many other great runs...one of his best was when his class got him home into third placing in a Melbourne Cup. Also won Group Ones CF Orr and a Turnbull to add to the cabinet.
Perhaps not a champion, but he's close.

Perth should do there utmost to get him here if they can.

@Ridersonthestorm33 I don't think his MC run was that great tbh. Had every chance and just didn't get the trip. J Mac had him under a vice like grip until the 400m mark-just like the Turnbull Stakes-and then, nothing. The first two gapped him big time.

Yeah he did have every chance, only his class allowed him to hold third.
It was more his versatility of pulling off Group One victories over 1400,1600, 2000, 2400 and being placed over the 3200 metre Melbourne Cup as well, that is so good in his resume.
    Group One Victories.
    CF Orr 1400.
    Epsom Handicap 1600.
    Turnbull Stakes 2000.
    BMW 2400.

    Melbourne Cup 3200 - third.

I was cheering him on to get up in the Toorak with 59..in his current form at wfa he would be very hard to beat here.

Just having a glance through the nominations as above

Hartnell - would be a great attraction
Ranier - surely a big chance, if he came for the Guineas
Aidan - would be a coup, but be surprised if he came

@Ridersonthestorm33 I'd say the Turnbull was his best run in a race. He was the even money fav for the Caulfield Cup before opting instead to take on Winx at the valley. He also gapped the subsequent CC winner, Jameka in the process.

The good thing if Hartnell came - and won the KT, would give him Group One successes over 1400, 1600, 1800, 2000, and 2400.
Would any other horse have achieved that ? Will be surprised if fronts up, but wishful thinking.

Did Northerly ever win a G1 at 1400m?

*edit Was 2nd in the Orr Stakes. He won a G1 at every other distance mentioned.

When you go fishing you need to use bait.

9 start maiden winner at Narrogin to Winterbottom say 6 starts latter :))  :))

Adam Durrant is good. But that would be the greatest training performance in WA racing history. Better than JJ Miller with King of Saxony

Without looking it up, but Winx has a spread like that? Did she win a Gp1 at 2400?

Yes Vo Rogue - won 3 CF Orrs too..2 Australia Cups, a Turnbull...was taken on in front a fair bit too.

Didn't get it easy in the lead all the time...think got pressured hard in the Australia Cup that Dandy Andy won at 125/1. Couldn't hold them off all the time but most times did.

    3/1 for Enticing Star all in for the Winterbottom. I know she's something special but who in their right mind is taking those odds... 8-}
