If it really was just the training, why would they be buying horses across the border sight unseen. There is plenty of horses to choose from on the eastern states; if they are such good trainers they would be getting same results with them.
It has to be said that obviously the horses are trained well to perform well; but the fact remains they are C5/10’s racing against C0’s.

Dibaba has always been able to run a decent mile but struggles at distances further than that.

it wouldnt more mattered last night what the distance was, won by 29mts, untouched, 58 starts since its last win........... another reason without a drop back rule more horses will be leaving for NSW

I know the lockdown thread on the gallops board is closed

But i didnt put a single post on it

However one thing i find terribly dissappointing is they have lifted it at 6pm today - however there is no regional travel allowed to Sunday week - that is deceitful - tell people last Monday that - dont tell us today

Id planned to visit relatives tonight in another region - i even rang the country police station yesterday - and they said the road block will  not be lifted no earlier than 6pm Friday - fine

Now today the govt inform us even though the hard lockdown is lifted today - there is no regional travel allowed till Sunday week - then tell us that 5 or days ago - thats WA Trotting type administration

Interesting observation Marko about NSW trainers improving ex WA horses.

Horses such as Jack William and Rakasinc that have come to WA clearly show that the reverse happens.

Generous odds on PP doing anything constructive Freo....nothing a couple of D9 dozers couldn't fix, turning the joint back into something useful.....like a landfill site.....and in the process, returning the TAB into something that may actually be worth selling and resurrecting harness racing from being a cottage industry.

    Track deemed unsafe to continue.

A trench had been dug across the track in the back straight yesterday or Friday .....smoothed over but it hadn't been compacted .....compactor obtained, water, all hands on deck, drivers manned the shovels, they got it okay for the first 4 races but it deteriorated and it was called. Can't blame RWWA for this one.
  • freodockersfreodockers    2,667 posts
    Have to ask JJ
What was the trench for ???

Reticulation to the infield I think, council upgrading something I was told but don't quote me. What was impressive was the actions of the officials, drivers and trainers, lots of them, sleeves rolled and did their very best to try and resolve the problem.

A lot of discussion on twitter after a prominent driver called for all tracks other than GP, Pinjarra and Bunbury to be closed.

Maybe RWWA inadvertently following South Australia’s model.
Think they have 3 country tracks.
Absolute disgrace that the pacing industry in WA is in the situation it’s in.

My guess would be a driver who doesn’t venture much to those outer tracks. I hope he has connections who are capable of buying up a couple of hundred horses a season because the way things are going and with that type of thinking it won’t be long until the only connections they will be racing are themselves and it will be for a bag of feed.

Diaba banked another 7k today - won a 13k race ( terrific stakemoney ) at Bathurst today - started $1.20 fave - never going to lose - and again ran slick time

Who was the prominent reinsman - like to know who it is - i reckon it is a terrible suggestion- you only have to look at QLD ( the racing is ok ) but it must be terribly stale for the participants because they have only got 2 tracks  Redcliffe and AP - they were unfortunate/unlucky in that the Parklands/Gold Coast track they lost that because the govt resumed the land for a freeway

Race 5 at Hobart tonight was a screamer of a finish - 12 horse field - 5 metres between 1st and last

    Beautiful spacious run on track
  • JayJayJayJay    7,629 posts
So Northam cops 4 hours of unseasonal rain and someone not club related digs a ditch across the back straight in Williams......and we shut down about 8 tracks? So brainless as to defy belief.
